Three Wortham High School students, Emory Russell, Evolett Gomez, and Josue Rodriguez, have earned advancement to the Region 12 Spanish Spelling Bee following their winning performance at the local competition.

In addition to qualifying for the Region 12 contest, the students have been selected to assist with the Region 20 Spanish Spelling Bee to be held in San Antonio on February 9th and 10th. Their involvement at the Region 20 level reflects both their academic ability and leadership within the WHS Spanish language program.
The students will officially compete in the Region 12 Spanish Spelling Bee on February 23rd at Baylor University, where they will represent Wortham High School among top qualifiers from across the region.
Advancing to this level of competition is a notable academic accomplishment that highlights the students’ dedication, preparation, and commitment to excellence. Their success also underscores the strength of Wortham High School’s Spanish program and its emphasis on high expectations, rigor, and student achievement.
The WHS Bulldog Nation congratulates Emory Russell, Evolett Gomez, and Josue Rodriguez and wishes them continued success as they represent their school at both the regional and interregional levels.
