Fairfield Rotary Club recognized two individuals as Paul Harris Fellows for contributing $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation during last week’s meeting.
Landis Bayless is a Paul Harris Fellow – plus one; Angela Oglesbee is a Paul Harris Fellow – plus two. They were congratulated, and pinned, by Fairfield Rotary President Lynn Simpson.
At the 1917 convention, outgoing Rotary president Arch Klumph proposed setting up an endowment “for the purpose of doing good in the world.” During the past 100 years, the Rotary Foundation has spent $3 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects by:
–Preventing disease
–Providing clean water
–Supporting education
–Growing local economies
–Saving mothers and children
–Promoting peace
The Fairfield Rotary Club meets each Tuesday beginning at noon at Sam’s Original Restaurant.
