A test for COVID-19 came back positive at Fairfield Nursing and Rehabilitation, according to a press release dated Saturday, June 6, 2020.

In an update, the facility stated that a team member had tested positive for COVID-19.

Testing was conducted on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Vidor Health & Rehabilitation, with residents, families and staff being personally notified of their results.

“We are working closely with the local health authority, to investigate the full spread of the outbreak and determine who, if anyone, will need to be retested,” the release states.

The release explains ways the Rehab facility is helping to keep the virus from spreading.

They are currently doing the following:

–All residents screened three times a day and taught them how what to watch for in case of infection

–Staff is screened at shift arrival with a series of questions and temperature taking, this is submitted daily to facility administration

–Staff works only their assigned hallway and that hall’s residents when possible

–Continued disinfecting and housekeeping to combat the virus

–One-on-one activities with residents along with their meals served to them in their room.
In an effort to provide accurate information transparently, Fairfield Nursing and Rehabilitation is putting regular updates on their news tab weekly or as needed to keep the community up to date on any COVID-19 activity.

“We are optimistic that with all of these measures in place the outbreak will be contained,” reads their official statement.

The numbers reported to the City of Fairfield (3) for Freestone County are not matching the numbers showing on the State Departments map (4). These errors can occur.
