The Freestone County Fair and Rodeo Association has received a second proclamation signed by The Senate of Texas. It reads as follows:

Senate Proclamation No. 253

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Freestone County Fair Association, which is hosting the centennial Freestone County Fair and Rodeo June 13-18, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Freestone County residents are gathering at the W. L. Moody Reunion Fairgrounds in Fairfield to celebrate 100 years of tradition and heritage at the 2022 Freestone County Fair and Rodeo; and

WHEREAS, This historic event has brought together area residents since 1922, and this year, longtime attendees will have the opportunity to reminisce about the priceless family memories made at fairs in decades past; and

WHEREAS, This much-anticipated event succeeds through the efforts of the Freestone County Fair Association; members of the organization are helping to mark 100 years of celebration by compiling a history book that details many of the important roles the association has played in the community; and

WHEREAS, The annual Freestone County Fair and Rodeo promises to provide attendees with delicious cuisine and spirited competition and will offer family fun and lively entertainment for visitors of all ages; the event’s 100th anniversary is a fitting time to reflect on the community’s proud history and the traditions that have helped to make Freestone County a wonderful place to call home; now, therefore, be it

PROCLAMED, That the Senate of the State of Texas hereby commend the members of the Freestone County Fair and Rodeo Association on their ongoing commitment to serving the community and extend to all best wishes for a successful and memorable centennial Freestone County Fair and Rodeo; and be it further

PROCLAIMED, That a copy of this Proclamation be prepared in honor of this special event as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
