Fairfield Hospital District is hosting a Public Forum on Tuesday, October 22nd at Round Prairie Baptist Church starting at 5:30 p.m.
The forum is being held in response to a citizen’s petition being circulated that, if successful would call for a rollback election on the approved tax rate.
Board members and Freestone Medical Center staff will present information to voters as to the need for this year’s increased rate.
Earlier this year, FHD voters had approved an increase in the tax rate cap, which had remained unchanged since the hospital district was first formed in 1987. That measure passed with the approval of 87% of voters.
Property owners in the FHD district are encouraged to attend next week’s forum.
