A Freestone County jury return an acquittal in last week’s trial of Quincy Robinson.

Court proceedings began Monday morning, March 6, 2023 with jury selection. The trial ended Friday with the jury returning a “not guilty” verdict.

Robinson had been charged by a Freestone County Grand Jury with 1 count of Murder and 2 counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The charges stemmed from a shooting incident in August 2021 in the Dew community. According to previous news reports, a weapon was fired during an early morning party, leaving one person dead and two other individuals injured.

Attorney for the defense was David Moore of Mexia.

Serving as prosecutor for the State was Freestone County Attorney Brian Evans.

The Judgment of Acquittal by Jury was signed by 77th District Judge Patrick Simmons at 12:30 p.m. on March 10, 2023.
