Oxymoron: a word or phrase inherently self-contradictory.
In 1948 George Orwell published 1984, a dystopian-like novel in which words had opposite meanings, e.g., evil is good, truth is false, cruelty is good, etc. That world was 100% upside down. Fortunately the title year proved anything but. It was the year of Ronald Reagan’s presidency demonstrating the truth of American values and principles.
The 20th century saw dysfunctional, criminal governments achieve passing victories at the expense of Truth: Nazi and Japanese administrations ignored the Truth that victory was impossible against the west.
In today’s 21st century “progressives” seek to achieve a permanent victory at at the expense of reality. Current trends in America’s social, financial, academic, business/industrial, and legal seek to achieve a permanent victory with society more like Orwell’s than Reagan’s. The crazy extremes they promote as sensible, logical, defy any rational thinking. Examples are too numerous to mention.
If a man shaves his face in the morning, careful not to nick his Adam’s apple, and sings bass in the choir, etc., he may identify as a woman, but his problem is between his ears…and nowhere else. California’s Governor Newsome can refuse to see his shrinking population and deny that half of all the nation’s homeless live in his woke state.
High profile universities including Ivy League schools dismiss ability, and merit so as to achieve diversity in student bodies by admittedly racial preferences for less qualified applicants; they continue to graduate under-qualified doctors, engineers, teachers, etc.
Democrats’ Green New Deal and the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act are just as fraudulent as the plan for “reparations” paid to black Americans who were never slaves by mostly white Americans who have never even seen a slave. The same can be said about a Guaranteed Annual Income for everyone. All of it is insupportable nonsense! These programs and the thinking that prompted them are the antithesis the REAL American values and principles that has made America the # 1 destination for the world’s people seeking a better life: equal opportunity for success, a real work ethic, religion, family values, and self-reliance.
The “progressives” champion Biden was recently quoted as stating “I am a capitalist.” He might well have said “I am a woman.” Because one is as true as the other. He is plainly neither.
82 years ago our foreign enemies denied the truth right in front of them; they lost BIG. Today our domestic enemies deny the truth right in front of them: the serious damage they do to our country. 1941 Isolationists saw the light after Pearl Harbor. Realistic Americans must do the same now or we will lose BIG.
A progressive, woke American patriot is the ultimate oxymoron.
