At the request of three Councilmen, Fairfield City Council held a special called meeting on Friday, November 9, 2018.

This meeting was to discuss, in closed executive session, matters concerning the candidates, compensation, and job duties for a permanent City Administrator.

They also discussed the possibility of moving forward with the purchase of the Navarro College Campus.

Once in open session, no action was taken on either of the matters.
Their next regularly scheduled meeting is for Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

This meeting includes accepting the retirement of Police Chief Kenny Bulger, whose last day will be Friday, November 30th. There will be a retirement party in his honor on Thursday, November 29th from 2:00-4:00 p.m.

Also during this meeting, Council will review, and possibly accept, the Termination of Contract Letter from Interim City Administrator, Jana Taylor, whose last day, according to the letter, will be December 5, 2018.

Be sure to get next week’s edition for more details from the November 13th meeting.
