Y’all.. this fair week has been literally record breaking for us.

We have so much to say, so many thanks to give out.

WORTHAM LOCALS TOOK FIRST PLACE in this year’s Go Texan Cornhole tournament. Congratulations, Crystal and Justin Underwood!

However, first and foremost a little explanation on why we did what we did for the fair week.

This fair has been taking place for over 100 years. It’s always been local folks, supporting local kids. From showing animals to ag mechanics and every thing in-between, it is for Freestone County residents only. A lot of these adults participating in Go Texan events participated with their elders and are now participating with their kids. Everything about the Freestone County Fair is TRADITION, not competition. These same folks are the ones that sponsor Freeco Go Texan with their money, time, energy and in SO MANY other ways. We owe these people,

OUR PEOPLE this tradition.

If you don’t get that, you aren’t from FREECO.

TAKING FIRST PLACE in the Go Texan Horseshoe Tournament is Rex and Yancy Bean.

We did not take any money away from our local kids, in any way. We in fact chose to celebrate and support locals and traditions over profit for ONE ANNUAL EVENT. In doing so, these local folks made this our most successful year, and made it possible to do something we’ve never been able to do. We made more this year (in county only) than we have in previous years.

With 24 teams in horse shoes, 27 in washers and 48 in Cornhole, we brought in almost $4,000. We will take all of these proceeds and add $5,000.00 to it to give to local seniors at the sale.

We did not raise the entry fees, FREECO showed up & showed out, as they always do.

TWELVE-YEAR OLD BRAYLAN MCMILLIAN and his dad, Billy McMillian, Jr. not only took home the Washer buckles, but did so undeafeated, beating out all twenty-six teams.

For those concerned about our kids missing out on money, our sale starts at 9:00AM Saturday morning. Feel free to come spend money on them and show your support. We will also be at the Peach Festival in July and EVERYONE is welcome to come play Cornhole.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT SUPPORTED US. LOCAL OR NOT.
