The Fairfield Lady Eagles cruised to two playoff wins and reach the regional quarterfinals and a rematch of the Region III finals a year ago.

Fairfield will take on the Malakoff Lady Tigers on Tuesday at the K. and Ida Wolens Special Events Center in Corsicana.

Fairfield opens up against the Rogers Lady Eagles at Robinson. The Lady Eagles jumped out a 27-7 first period lead and extended the lead to 53-13 in the first half.

Shadasia Brackens led all scorers with 28 points in the 73-28 win.

On Friday, the Lady Eagles would take on another set of Lady Eagles, this one, Mildred at Corsicana High School. Fairfield dominated the first five minutes and scored 32 points and only gave up four. The first period ended 35-7 and the Lady Eagles used the entire roster for the majority of the game.

Jimilyah Nash hit two three pointers and scored on a drive to notch the first eight points of the game. Avery Thaler and Kaylee Williams scored early and often in forcing 13 Mildred turnovers and the points came quickly.

Fairfield would score 35 in the first period and only 36 for the remainder of the game. The Lady Eagles had control and worked the clock and personnel, using several combinations in the win. Shadasia Brackens scored 21 points and Nash added 14 in the win. McKinna Brackens scored 13 and passed to set up several scores. Williams also added ten points.

The Teague Lady Lions defeated #13 Lorena 34-28 in the bi-district round but lost in the area round 57-51 to the Rice Lady Bulldogs at Hubbard High School. Rice guard Seniya Burks scored 44 points in the game and pushed the Lady Bulldogs to take on the Mexia Ladycats on Tuesday at Corsicana High School.
