“Hold up, guys. I got a story to tell,” interupted Actioneer Clint Minchew as Frankie Nelson of Fairfield FFA lead her Market Hog into the sale pen on Saturday, June 19, 2021.

He went on to tell how Frankie and her brother, Cade, started off with three hogs for the 2021 Freestone County Fair.

“We all know how these things go, sometimes,” Minchew continued, stating that one of the hogs passed away before the Fair, and another one crippled itself during weigh-in on Thursday, which disqualified the animal from showing.

“Both those pigs belonged to Frankie,” the auctioneer explained.

As a graduating senior, this was Frankie’s last opportunity to show her animal exhibits in the Freestone County Fair.

According to Minchew, her younger brother, Cade, told her, “Show my pig.”

It is for that act of character that Cade Nelson of Fairfield FFA became the 2021 recepient of the Kindness From Case Belt Buckle, awarded to help encourage camaraderie and sportsmanship in the show ring.

The Kindness from Case Memorial Foundation, Inc. was organized in 2018 to honor and memorialize the life, legacy and acts of kindness shown by the late Case Robinson, who died at the age of eleven.
