Kat-Luca began in 2015, when gun owner Kim Bishop had difficulty finding a conceal carry belly band that did not roll up after repeated use. “I couldn’t find anything,” she said.

“I was excited to get my carry license and remember going to a gun show to find a way to carry,” said Bishop. “I soon realized there wasn’t a lot of options for women, especially if dresses or skirts were a part of their wardrobe.”

She relates buying a belly band, but then the newness wore off after a couple of weeks. “It started to scrunch up on me and became very uncomfortable,” said Bishop.

After a fruitless search locally and online, and since she has sewn all her life, Bishop decided to design a belly band for herself.

“I loved it,” she said. “I wondered how many other people had the same issue, so I decided to make up a few and set up at the next gun show…the rest is history.”
What started out as a solution for women soon included men, as well. “Belts that rolled up seemed to be everyone’s issue,” continued Bishop, “and now I had the solution!”

The Kat-Luca Gun Belts are not only great with dresses, skirts and leggings, they also work great with shorts and sweatpants.

According to Bishop, Kat-Luca has sold hundreds of belts at gun shows in Oklahoma, Dallas, Houston, Corsicana and through their website at Kat-Luca.com.

They are also sold at various locations, with one of their most recent being Capps Ag Center in Fairfield, Texas.

Be sure to check them out at Capps (samples are available to try on), online on the website, or at their next gun show, as posted on Kat-Luca’s Facebook page.
