Freestone Medical Center announced Monday morning, July 13, that it has transitioned to a new federal Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) designation, a change that helps strengthen their ability to continue providing quality healthcare to the community for years to come.
What does this mean for me?
From a patient perspective, very little is changing. Your insurance coverage is not affected, and you’ll continue to receive the same compassionate, high-quality care from the same trusted team. If your illness or injury can be treated here, they’re here for you. If you need a higher level of specialized care, they will help arrange a transfer to the most appropriate hospital just as they always have.
The Emergency Department remains open 24/7, and the clinics, lab, imaging, outpatient surgery, cardiac rehab, and specialty services will continue as usual.
“Thank you for allowing us to serve Freestone County and the surrounding communities. We remain committed to providing exceptional healthcare close to home.”
