A GoFundMe account has been set up to assist with road repair for 71-year-old Janis Goodman of Freestone County.
The road leading to her rural home is located on County Road 451 off FM 489 between Dew and Lanely. It has become impassable due to erosion and deep ruts.
According to her son, Gary, Mrs. Goodman has medical issues that require doctor appointments.
Mr. Goodman relates that he has been unsuccessful in securing help from the County Judge and Commissioner.
At issue, according to the office of County Commissioner – Pct. 3 Mike Daniels, is using taxpayer funds to repair what is believed to be a private road, rather than a public county road.
