Thanksgiving is over, the halls are being decked, and the City of Fairfield is happy to present, ‘A Hometown Christmas’ Celebration.

This Saturday, December 7th, 2019 is a fun-filled day keeping with the true spirit of Christmas.

Anyone involved in the annual parade, ‘A Heartfelt Christmas,’ needs to be lining up at the elementary at 3:00 p.m. (Entries are due at the Chamber office this Friday, December 6th).

Bettye Trask will do a Christmas Story reading at 3:30 on the courthouse lawn.

The parade follows, starting at 4:00 p.m. and once the parade is complete the Courthouse Square will glow with the spirit of Christmas.  Grand Marshall, as always, will be the Santa Claus, making a personal appearance.

The Courthouse Square will be full of arts & crafts and an elf balloon artist starting at 4:00 p.m.

Santa will of course be on the Square to visit with children from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Make sure you are ready for the music and dance performance once it kicks off at 5:00 p.m. Call 903-389-5792 if you would like to sing or perform during this event.

The River of Life will have their Nativity drama at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and they will host a petting zoo from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Then at 6:15 p.m., once it is nice and dark, will be the official lighting of the Christmas Tree.

Make sure you bring a new and unwrapped toy with you to donate to the Blue Santa who will be sharing in the festivities surrounding the square.  The toy drive is sponsored by Fairfield Police Association.

Any questions, contact the Chamber at 903-389-5792.

So make sure you head on out this upcoming Saturday to get fully into the Christmas Spirit.
