Dabrett Black, charged in the November 2017 shooting death of Texas DPS Trooper Damon Allen, was in court Thursday afternoon, January 10, 2019 for his third pretrial.

No motions were made by either side during this session.

Judge Patrick Simmons stated that the defense has a deadline of February 15th if they plan to file a motion to move the venue to another location. If a motion is filed, prosecutors have until March 15th to respond.

Another pretrial has been tentatively scheduled for March 26th, but is subject to change based upon whether or not the location is changed.
