Benefit RC is gearing up for a bigger year at its annual Richland Chambers Lake Poker Run, a fun community fundraiser that supports local volunteer fire departments. Since 2016, the nonprofit has helped provide equipment, training, and resources for departments serving the lake area.
After raising $150,000 last year, Benefit RC is working to secure sponsors, donations, and auction contributions, which are tax deductible, to reach its 2026 goal of $150,250. Organizers are urging businesses, residents, and community leaders to give now, noting that every dollar directly helps fund protective gear, emergency equipment, firefighter training, and other critical needs for the volunteer fire departments that protect the Richland Chambers Lake area.
Set for Saturday, July 18, 2026, this year’s Poker Run will celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a patriotic red, white, and blue theme. The event will include the Poker Run, barbecue lunch, live and silent auctions, live music, and family-friendly activities for boaters and non-boaters alike.
Benefit RC leaders say strong sponsorships and generous donations will determine how much support local volunteer fire departments receive this year, and they are calling on the community to step up early. Whether through a business sponsorship, direct donation, auction item, or event participation, every contribution helps protect local families, homes, and property—while powering one of the summer’s most fun and patriotic community events.
