Texas DPS Officers make an arrest at the Road Ranger travel center in Dew on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at around 2:30 p.m.
According to a witness to the incident, they observed one DPS vehicle pull into the parking lot of the gas station behind a van and then activate its lights.
Next the driver of the van was told to exit the vehicle and crawl toward the officer whose gun was drawn.
The witness states that the driver complied and was then told to lay flat on his stomach while being held at gun point until a second DPS officer arrived. At this point, the driver was placed in handcuffs, as can be seen in the photo.
Once the driver was secured, the two officers approached the van, again with guns drawn, to search for any other occupants, of which there were none.
Also reporting to the scene and later interview witnesses were Teague Police Department Officers and Freestone County Sheriff Deputies.
No official details were available as of press time.
