On June 23, 2023, Officers with Wortham Police Department and Deputies with Freestone Sherriff Department went to a residence on FM 80 between Streetman and Kirvin to serve a search warrant and felony arrest warrant from an altercation that occurred earlier in the day involving a drive-by shooting in Streetman.
As a result of that altercation there was a gunshot victim that was transported to Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.
As Officers and Deputies were attempting to serve the warrants there was an Officer involved shooting and the suspect is deceased.
No Officers or Deputies were injured.
No names or further details are being released as this is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Texas Rangers.
