Update January 17, 2022

Dear WISD parents and guardians,

We have been monitoring illness and assessing our current situation over the weekend, and we continue to see both staff and students needing a little more time to recover and get healthy. For this reason, we have decided it is in the best interest of both staff and students to extend our school closure through Tuesday, January 18th. Please know that this decision was not made lightly. The spread of COVID and other illnesses has had a significant impact on our daily operations in Wortham ISD, but we expect many staff and students to be able to return to school on Wednesday. Therefore, there will be no school or extracurricular activities on Tuesday, January 18th. We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday, January 19th as we return to our regular schedule.
Sincerely,
Superintendent Melissa Bosley

Due to increasing COVID-19 positive cases and other illnesses among our students and staff, we have made the decision to cancel school and all extracurricular activities for Friday, January 14th.

Additionally, we are canceling our Open House that was scheduled for Monday, January 17th.

Our maintenance staff will utilize this time to continue with their cleaning and sanitizing without staff and students in the buildings and buses.

Students WILL NOT have to make up this day of school.

Please stay safe, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on campuses on Tuesday, January 18th.

Melissa Bosley

Superintendent, Wortham ISD
