Wortham High School is abuzz with anticipation as it prepares to host its 3rd Annual Career and College Showcase on Thursday, March 28th. With an impressive lineup of nearly 100 presenters, the event promises to be a pivotal moment for students, parents, and community members seeking direction into the diverse pathways that lie ahead in their academic and professional journeys.

The lineup includes a comprehensive showcase of junior colleges, universities, vocational schools, military representatives and businesses, all together at WHS. The Career and College Showcase will provide students with an invaluable opportunity to interact directly with representatives from institutions and industries, gaining firsthand knowledge about the multitude of paths available after high school.

The much-anticipated event is scheduled for March 28th, bringing together students, educators, and industry professionals at Wortham High School. Activities kick off at 8:30am, and will continue until 3:00pm. Students and parents are encouraged to mark their calendars for this unique occasion.

Concessions will be available, selling Barbeque, snacks, and beverages prepared by the Bulldog Beefstro and Bulldog Brew competition cooking teams.

In addition to the traditional participants, the event will feature ambulances from several EMT partners with WHS and hopefully several medi-vac helicopters. The goal is to provide students with the tools and information they need to make informed decisions about their future endeavors.

WHS is committed to making the fair a meaningful experience for students as well as community members, and other school districts. Some exhibits will allow them to explore various professions hands-on, offering a glimpse into the day-to-day activities of different careers. This immersive approach aims to help students better understand their interests and aptitudes, guiding them towards well-informed decisions.

The success of the event is a result of collaborative efforts between the school, area businesses, and community members. Wortham High School extends its gratitude to all participants for their commitment to guiding and empowering the next generation and bridging the gap between education and industry.

WHS plans to continue to be the frontrunner in the area of providing lucrative opportunities for our students and community. Several companies with current openings to fill will be represented, so one might just leave with a job.

As March 28th approaches, Wortham High School invites the community to join in the excitement and support the students in their quest for knowledge and opportunities. The 3rd Annual Career and College Showcase is not just an event, it is a stepping stone for the future leaders of Wortham and beyond.
