Wortham Fire was dispatched to a structure fire on W San Saba. Upon arrival the fire had spread to the attic and was spreading to the adjacent commercial structure. Engine 72 crew made initial attack on the structure while Tanker 71 made attack on the commercial building. Mutual aide was requested from Streetman Fire, Teague Volunteer Fire Department, Kirvin Volunteer Fire Department, City of Mexia Fire and EMS, Wortham PD and Richland Fire. The commercial structure sustained minimal damage but the residential structure sustained heavy fire and smoke damage . The assistance from our neighboring departments is greatly appreciated. Great job by everyone one scene. Please keep the family in your prayers as they lost almost everything.
