Last week, a Fairfield councilman withdrew his candidacy in the upcoming City Council election.

In an official statement, Councilman James Tyus said, “As Vice-President of Haynie Tyus Land Development, I withdraw my candidacy for Place 2 on Fairfield City Council election November 3, 2020, due to ethics concerns of future developments in Fairfield.

“Due to late withdrawal filing, my name will still be on the ballot,” he concluded.
