An Enchanting Theatrical Journey into the World of C.S. Lewis’ Classic

Warehouse Living Arts Center (WLAC) is thrilled to announce its upcoming youth company production of “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe,” a timeless adaptation by Joseph Robinette of C.S. Lewis’ beloved fantasy novel that opens September 5. Directed by WLAC’s own Executive Director John F. Kaiser III, with invaluable assistance from Gary Janeway, this production promises to captivate audiences of all ages.

“The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” has enchanted readers for generations with its magical tale of adventure, friendship, and the battle between good and evil. C.S. Lewis’ masterful storytelling has cemented this classic as a cornerstone of children’s literature, sparking imaginations and inspiring countless adaptations across various media.

In this eagerly anticipated production, WLAC’s youth company brings Lewis’ enchanting world to life on the stage. With their talent and dedication, the young actors will transport audiences to the land of Narnia, where they’ll join siblings Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy on their extraordinary journey filled with mythical creatures, a powerful lion, and a wicked witch.

Costume designs by the talented Laura Briseno promise to immerse theatergoers in the intricate and vivid world of Narnia, enhancing the visual spectacle of the performance. Briseno, art department chair and professor at Navarro college, has costumed several Cirque du Soleil shows, touring Broadway productions, and other professional shows around the world. “We are honored to have Laura work on this production and cannot wait for you to see what all she and everyone involved has done to help bring this show to life.” says show director John Kaiser III.

The show is set to open September 5th, 2023, and will run through September 10th, offering performances that are certain to leave a lasting impression. Tickets are available for purchase now and can be acquired through the WLAC website at www.thewlac.com. The theatre Box Office is open from Wednesday to Friday, noon to 5pm, and on show days.
