Active cases are up significantly in the Tri-County area, compared to last week’s numbers.

Leon County is three times higher, and Limestone County is four times higher than last week.

Freestone County, on the other hand, is reporting SEVEN times more active cases within the last week.

As vaccinations begin, it is important to remember that it will take time for your body to build up immunity. COVID-19 vaccinations that require two shots may not protect you until a week or two after your second shot.

The Texas Department of Health and Humans Services has updated their COVID-19 app, visit dshs.texas.gov/coronavirus/ and click Case Count to view to information.

Always remember that the numbers are what were reported from the state, and there are many factors included in counting numbers.
The website states that, “All data are provisional and subject to change.”

Also, make sure and pay attention to the tab. If you check there are a variety of tabs on the website ranging from positive cases in total, recoveries, deaths, actives cases, and much more information.
