Christmas is less than two weeks away, and kids are looking forward to getting out of school next week for Winter Break.

Holiday activities are slated for this weekend. Come out are join your neighbors and friends for some Christmas fun.

Christmas lights will be on from dusk until dawn each night at the Teague CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK. The 8th Avenue City Park will be lit up with over thirty trees, decorated by local businesses, churches and organizations.

Visitors are welcome to walk or drive through. Admission is free.

–Friday & Saturday

FAIRFIELD FEST – Downtown Market will have a special two-day market this weekend.

Shop local vendors on the Square in Fairfield, Texas on December 14th and 15th. Hours are Friday from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Wear your favorite pajamas for CHRISTMAS AT THE LIBRARY on Friday December 14th.

Listen to the Christmas story and enjoy cookies, hot chocolate and crafts at Fairfield Library. Event begins at 6:00 p.m.

Let’s run, jump, or see who goes the fastest down the ice slide during the annual JINGLE ALL THE WAY – Winter Sporting Event on Saturday, December 15th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on the courthouse square in Fairfield, Texas.

New this year will be Ice Slide Races!

Enjoy kid rides and a bounce house.

Get your face painted, or let the hat makers help you create a head topper.

There will be stilt walkers and an elf balloon artist.

Plus, visits with Santa, food vendors, and more holiday shopping.

Ice Slide Racing will run from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Also during this event, winners will be announced for the Holiday Bingo Card Game and the Lamp Post Decorating Contest.

Event is sponsored by the City of Fairfield and Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

The JINGLE BELL 5K RUN competition, sponsored by Freestone Cancer Support Group, will also be held on the courthouse square on Saturday, December 15th.

Registration and check-in starts at 2:00 p.m., with the race kicking off at 2:30 p.m.

Entry fees are $10 for adults, $5 for youth 12 and under, and $20 for a family. Entry includes a free jingle bracelet.

Proceeds used to assist local cancer patients with travel expenses while undergoing treatment.

First, Second, and Third place awards will be given to the top finishers for male, female, and youth.

–Sunday, Dec. 16th

Members of River of Life Family Worship Center will present an encore performance of the live NATIVITY DRAMA on Sunday, December 16th beginning at 6:30 p.m.

During the event, they will give out cookies, hot chocolate and blankets to the community.
