The songs of Mexia’s own Cindy Walker will be featured in Trinity Star Arts Council’s upcoming production, “YOU DON’T KNOW ME, the Cindy Walker Songbook.”

People chosen to perform will join the Muleskinner Band, Rachel and Scott Bossier, John Lamb, Stan Waldrip, Bobby Cooper and many other local favorites.  George Boyd will direct.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2:00-5:00pm in the home of Jeff Harrison at 427 E. Reunion in Fairfield.

Individuals or groups who would like to participate should please come prepared to sing 2-3 minutes of a song of their choice.

You may call Mr. Boyd at (310) 433-9853 if you wish to make an appointment.  An accompanist will be available, or you can bring your own.

We are especially interested in hearing women because, though Ms. Walker wrote mostly for men’s voices, the production wants to also hear her vast repertoire presented in new and unusual ways.

Songs looking for performers are: Miss Molly, Take Me in Your Arms, Warm Red Wine, Sunshine Wine, The Gold Rush is Over, Anna Marie, In the Misty Moonlight, A Goin’ Away Party, and I Was Walking Out the Door.

Performances are scheduled for January 27 and 28, 2018, in the Theatre at Teague High.  Mark your calendar now!
