Halloween is almost here, and for those dedicated candy snatchers, Freestone County is the place to be this week!

Fairfield

First stop is Fairfield on Wednesday, October 26th with Pumpkin Craft for the little ones at Fairfield Library’s Story Time beginning 10:00 a.m.

The annual Boo! On the Square will be set up on the courthouse square from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Collect some treats, play some games, and even get your picture taken for the newspaper.

Within walking distance (up and down Main Street) will also be Trunk-or-Treat in the First United Methodist Church parking lot, a Fall Festival at Harmony Presbyterian Church, Fall Festival (6-8pm) at Calvary Baptist Church, and Trick-or-Treating at the Freestone County Historical Museum.

Also that evening will be the annual Howls & Meows Pet Costume Contest in front of the Courthouse. Register at 5:00 p.m., contest begins at 6:00 p.m.

Wortham

Next, join the City of Wortham on Saturday, October 29th for their 6th Annual Brick Street Fall Festival downtown from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

This is a safe fun event for the family, sponsored by Wortham area churches and businesses.

Enjoy the pumpkin decorations, food, treats, and games.  And, don’t forget to cast your vote for your favorite Pet Costume Contest while at the Festival.

Then, on Halloween night, Monday, October 31st, enjoy door-to-door trick-or-treating in Wortham. Suggested time in 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Please leave your porch light off if you do NOT wish to participate.

Teague

The 5th Annual Trunk-or-Treat will be held in Teague from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the 300 Block of Elm (empty lot next to hotel). This event is hosted by Teague Economic Development Corporation and local businesses.

In case of rain, event will more to the Teague Community Center on Main Street.
