Freestone County Commissioners, the City of Fairfield, and the Freestone Medical Center purchased a Spot Vision Screener for the Fairfield Lions Club to be used by the school nurses of Freestone County to facilitate the vision screening of students and adults.

Following a presentation of the need of the Spot Machine by Lions Emilee Terry, Ann Gatlin, and Past District Governor Gilbert Gatlin this miracle occurred. The Hospital Administrator, John Yeary, purchased the machine for $ 6,000, (The Fairfield Lions Club was quoted $8,000+).

The Fairfield Lions Club secretary, Kella Redic is a Teague Elementary School Nurse who is state Certified and trained use the Spot Vision Machine. Lion Lea Ann Batey from the Temple Belton Lady Lions Club comes to Fairfield to train the school nurses to use the Spot Vision machine. This training will be announced, the place, the time and date, probably in August.

Also the Fairfield Lions would like to have a vehicle (trailer) to provide a dark room for the Spot Machine at special events for the four cities in Freestone County.

The Fairfield Lions Club would greatly appreciate the use or donation of a conveyance to perform the screening.

Thank you very much for your consideration.
