Conservative State Representative Angelia Orr announced last week that she will seek re-election to Texas State House District 13. This announcement comes after a successful legislative session that passed the state’s toughest border security package in history, the largest property tax cut in state history, and several other notable victories, including a ban on transgender medical procedures for children, tougher penalties for voter fraud, and much more.
“I am proud we were able to get so much done this session,” Orr said. “Conservatives achieved strong victories, but there’s more work to do securing the border and moving Texas toward eliminating property taxes. I am ready to build on our successes.”
Orr led the charge to stop the woke agenda and end the sexual indoctrination of Texas children. Orr banned transgender mutilation of minors under 18, banned pornographic materials in school libraries, banned men from competing in women’s college sports, and banned drag shows and other sexually explicit performances in front of children.
As a member of the powerful Appropriations Committee, Orr proudly co-sponsored and passed key parts of the state’s border security package. She helped ensure the Legislature passed a record investment in border security – $5.1 billion. She also enhanced law enforcement authority for the U.S. border patrol, officially designating drug cartels as terrorist organizations, and classified fentanyl deaths as murder.
Orr also increased penalties for human smuggling and fentanyl drug dealers and manufacturers.
Texans can expect to see more than $17.6 billion in property tax relief over the next two years thanks to record-breaking property tax reform passed by Orr this session.
“This session, we passed common-sense reforms to protect Texas values, supported our rural schools, and ensured a fiscally conservative budget for the next biennium,” Orr said. “I am already excited for what’s ahead and looking forward to continuing the fight for Texas conservative values.”
Angelia Orr is a wife, mother, small business owner, and lifelong conservative. She and her husband, Will, live in Hill County, where they attend First Baptist Church Hillsboro. They are the proud parents of two grown children.
