Fort Boggy State Park is located in Leon County near Centerville and includes trails, primitive campsites, cabins and 15-acre lake.
Programs are free with paid park entrance or Texas State Park Pass.  Entry is FREE for children 12 and younger; 13 and older is $3.00 per person.  All these events and more can be found on the www.TPWD.Texas.gov website and our Fort Boggy State Park Facebook page.

Medicinal Plants Hike

Some of the flowers at the park can do more than look pretty in a vase.  They can make you feel better too.  Join Ranger Heather on a leisurely ½ mile hike around Lake Sullivan to identify plants that can be used as medication.  This hike is weather dependent.  Check www.tpwd.texas.gov or www.facebook.com/fortboggystatepark.

Celebrating National Moon Day
Date:  July 15, 2023

Meet at: Pavilion
We are celebrating the first landing on the moon by the Apollo 11 crew on July 20, 1969.  While celebrating the past, we will be discussing the future Artemis mission.  The mission will put man (and woman) back on the moon.  Kids will be able to decorate and take home their own telescope.

Basic Geocaching

Fort Boggy has two new caches hidden in the park!  Geocaching is like modern day treasure hunting.  Lear what it is and how you can participate.  We will be putting together your geocaching tools so you can get started by finding one of the new caches in the park.

Classic Games – Dominoes

Have you ever wanted to learn how to play dominoes?  Are you an experienced player looking for new opponents?  This event is for you!  Ranger Heather will give you a brief history on the game and teach you how to play a basic game with double six dominoes.  The park has a few dominoes sets to loan out so feel free to bring your own.
