A roaring good time was had at the Teague Chamber of Commerce awards banquet on Friday evening, April 10, 2026, at the Tri-County Golf Club at the Vineyards.

With a theme of ‘The Roaring 20s’ the venue was filled with black and gold decorations and enough sparkle and fringe to last a lifetime.
Guests donned their themed outfits and gathered to recognize the best of the best in Teague businesses and community members.

Serving as Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Ricky Sims.

A beautiful invocation was offered by Wanda Johnson.

Chamber President Denise Cooper welcomed guests.

Next, guests were treated to a meal of either pork or chicken with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables, catered by the Tri-County Golf Club at The Vineyards.

Once everyone’s appetites were satiated, Teague ISD presented their Students of the Year awards.

-Teague Elementary Student of the Year was presented to Brysen Garcia.

–Teague Junior High Student of the Year went to Colton Brummett.

–Teague High School Student of the Year was given to Miley Steen.

–Teague Lion’s Academy Student of the Year was earned by Paige Brown, who unfortunately was unable to be off work to attend.

Next, Chamber President Denise Cooper, Vice President Brittany Brown, Treasurer Rebekah Green, and Board Member Robert Kersten recognized each of the Businesses of the Month for 2025. Certificates were presented to those in attendance.

Finally came the presentation of the Annual Chamber Awards.

“This business has become a true local favorite here in Teague, known not only for incredible food, but for the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere they’ve created for our community,” said Rebekah.

Other nominees for this award include AXC Dump Truck Services, 3W Auto, BRI Railroad Museum, Teague Historical Preservation Society, Brookshire Brothers, Circle Hardware, Teague Mart, The Honeysuckle, Hurst Candle Company, Texas SideCar, Freestone Credit Union, Texas Farm Bureau, Rancho Nuevo, Tri-County Golf Club at the Vineyards, Chadus Garage, Withrow Furniture, and Stephanie Burns with Farmers Insurance.

–Chamber Member of the Year 2025, presented by Board Member Robert Kersten, was presented to Brookshire Brothers, accepted by store manager Rebekah Green.

“Brookshire Brothers has long been more than just a grocery store; they are a cornerstone of our community. Their dedication to serving Teague goes far beyond their doors, continually giving back and supporting the people who make this town so special,” said Robert.

Nominees for this award include AXC Dump Truck Services, Bowers Funeral Home, BRI RR Museum, CASA of Freestone and Limestone Counties, Chadus Garage, Eighth Avenue Baptist Church, Rancho Nuevo, Teague Auto Parts, Teague Nursing and Rehab, The Honeysuckle, Texas Farm Bureau – Brittany Brown, and Withrow Furniture.

–Organization of the Year 2025, presented by VP Brittany Brown, was awarded to B-RI Railroad Museum.

“The B-RI Railroad Museum has not only preserved the history of our community; but has brought it to life in a way that educates, inspires, and connects generations,” said Brittany.

Other nominees for this award include Teague EDC, Teague Elementary School, Teague Historical Preservation Society, Teague Veterans Remembrance Park, Teague Volunteer Fire Department, and Teague Baseball & Softball Association.

–Citizen of the Year 2025, presented by President Denise Cooper, was awarded to Brittany Brown.

“Brittany, your humility, your servant’s heart, and your commitment to this community do not go unnoticed. Even when you may not seek recognition, the community sees you, appreciates you, and is better because of you,” said Denise.

Nominees for this award include Crystal Adams, Bill Bowers, Stephanie Burns, Carol Estrada, Sally Gregory, Mary Lee, Katy Pate, Mabry Steen, Kim Thompson, Corey Turner, Phillip Williamson, and Pablo Zamora.

Closing remarks were then given by Denise and a benediction by Chamber Board Member Lovie Whyte.
