Recovered Stolen Vehicle
On June 7, 2026, the Teague Police Department received a report of a stolen vehicle from within the city limits.
Since that time, the vehicle’s information was entered into state and national databases and actively monitored by Teague PD and Freestone County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers.
That night, the vehicle was located in Houston, Texas. Houston Police Department officers attempted to stop the vehicle, at which point the driver, identified as Marcus Jerone Busby, reportedly fled and led officers on a brief pursuit. The pursuit ended safely, and the vehicle was recovered.
Busby was taken into custody by Houston Police Department officers and has been charged with:
–Evading Arrest/Detention with a Motor Vehicle
–Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle
–(Charges filed by Houston Police Department related to their incident.)
This recovery clears one more stolen vehicle from our active case list and reflects the value of coordinated communication between Teague Police Department, Freestone County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch, and the Houston Police Department.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
