The Teague Lions rolled up 712 yards rushing and dominated the Dublin Lions 68-26 Friday at Crusader Stadium on the campus of the University of Mary Hardin Baylor.
The Lions visited the site for the second consecutive year when they claimed the area championship win over Rockdale.
Teague had the same offensive success and it showed from the opening possession.  The third play from scrimmage was a handoff to tailback Jacovy McWilliams and he cut up the middle and raced to a 72 yard run for the first score of the game with only forty seconds gone in the game.  Ismael Diaz added the extra point for the 7-0 lead.
It did not take long for the Lions to add a couple of more scores in the next few minutes.  Antonio Heard scored on a two yard run midway through the first quarter and Tyrese Heard scored on a one play drive with a 55 yard run and the 21-0 lead with 4:33 remaining.
Dublin put their first points on the board in the waning moments of the first quarter.  Quarterback Brady Moore connected to Trask Brown for the second time in the drive.  The 27 yard scored cut the Teague lead to 21-7.
Teague would add the final points of the first quarter with a completed pass from Antonio Heard to Tyrese Heard for an 11-yard touchdown.
Dublin cut into the lead again with the Moore touchdown pass to Bryson Fowler.  The play covered 54 yards and the Teague led 27-13.
Teague added three more scores before the teams would head into the locker room.  Antonio Heard scored on runs of three and 55 yards and McWilliams added his second score of the night with a 17 yard burst up the middle.  The run in the last minutes of first half gave Teague a 48-13 lead at the half.
The officials made it to the game at the halftime break and the replacements went back to their respective areas.  The game was moved back to 8pm because the officials were stuck in traffic.  The start
They did an admirable job but gave way to the scheduled crew in the second half.
Several reserves saw time in the Teague offense in the second half.  Mikal West, Anthony Weathers, and Isiah Patrick all scored second half touchdowns to put the 68 points on the board.  Brady Moore would complete his night with four touchdown passes but it all came after the game was long since decided.
McWilliams finished the night with 177 yards in only eight carries and Antonio Heard broke open the Teague offence with 237 yards on 11 carries and three touchdowns.  He added 65 yards passing and a touchdown.
The Teague Lions move to 2-1 on the season and head into the open week.  They will take to the road to West and take on the Trojans in the district opener in two weeks.
