Free meals to children was extended nation-wide through September 30, 2021 by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to allow for receiving nutritious meals during the summer when schools are out of session.
Below is information about food sites in Freestone County, Texas:
–Teague ISD
Free breakfast and lunch will be available to all children 18 and under from June 1st – June 30th, Monday thru Thursday from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Grab and go meals are available.
–Wortham ISD
The Bulldog Café will be open 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for any child 18 and under on the following dates: June 1st – June 4th; June 7th – June 10th; June 14th- June 17th; June 21st- June 24th; and June 28th – July 1st.
–Fairfield ISD
If your child received free or reduced-price school meals through the National School Lunch Program during the 2020–21 school year, then your family may be eligible for P-EBT benefits to purchase food. The P-EBT application opens June 2.
