Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Limestone, Falls, McLennan, Robertson, Leon, Hill and Freestone Counties are sponsoring a “Summer Beef Cattle Management” program at the Groesbeck Auction Barn in Groesbeck, Texas, on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude after lunch. Lunch will be sponsored by S&S Ag Feedstore and Buzbee Feed & Seed. There will be a sponsored breakfast and refreshments courtesy of Lone Star Ag Credit.

There is a $10.00 fee for the program, payable at the door. We will be offering one (1) CEU (1 General credit) toward recertification of private, non-commercial and commercial applicator licenses for attending the program.

Speakers for the program include: Dr. Jason Cleere – Extension State Beef Cattle Specialist; Lisa Everman – Limestone/Freestone Farm Service Agency; Dr. Barron Rector – Extension Range Specialist, and Jon DeClerck, Purina Cattle Technical Consultant.

Topics for the Beef Cattle program include: Sustaining Pregnancies and Conception Rates during Extreme Drought Conditions; Feed supplements/alternatives with managing rising feed costs and feed availability; Fence row weed and brush control; Weed identification and control (bring your weed samples in to be identified); Range Decisions in Dry Conditions; and a USDA Farm Service Agency Update along with presentations from all of our sponsors.
