On November 8, 2022 voters will choose a State Representative for the newly drawn Texas House District 13.

Cedric Davis the Democratic nominee won the March Primary and is working hard across the district to hear from the citizens to learn what they believe are important issues facing them, the district and the state. He said it is time to have some “Real Talk” about how to help all struggling Texans of Central Texas.

Davis will participate in a Candidates Tour with state-wide candidates on September 11th beginning in Marlin at 10:00 am, Bethana Baptist Church, 6565 County Rd 419, Flynn, TX at 1:00 pm and Butler Community Center. 1604 FM, Fairfield, TX at 4:00 pm.

Davis said it is his highest priority to end voter suppression, that all Americans deserve the right to vote. He said our freedom is on the ballot.

Cedric said some of his top issues include Rural Healthcare, Rural Emergency Services, Fixing Rural Roads and Water Services, Public School Finance Reform and Environment / Economic Security.

Davis is a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, and the Advanced Texas Military Academy. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Sam Houston State University, he also attended Tarleton State University for graduate studies in Public Administration, and completed online studies at James Madison University – College of Business for certification as a Certified Professional Manager.

Cedric is a decorated Desert Storm Veteran, Master Peace Officer, Police Instructor, Criminal Investigator, FEMA Emergency Preparedness Manager, Certified Teacher, and Public Speaker. Davis is a Police Chief (Ret.), and former public educator. He has served in a public servant role for more than three decades and is the current City Manager for the city of Marlin TX.

Davis’s background is in Public Policy and Administration, Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Management, Business Administration, and Public Education. He served seven years as the CEO of FSAP, LLC of Texas and Louisiana. Historically, Cedric served as the First African-American Mayor of Balch Springs, Texas. In 2018, he again made Texas history by becoming the First African-American candidate of a major political party to finish within the top three primary finishers in a Texas Governor’s race.

Davis has many events scheduled to meet the voters and where the voters will learn more about his campaign, values and beliefs. He was recently in Hill County where he spoke with the Democratic County Party July monthly meeting.

Davis’s campaign will be represented at the Hillsboro DPS National Night Out on August 2nd in Hillsboro. He will be in Waco on August 13th speaking at a Democratic training and candidate Summit. He will be in Marlin on August 20th speaking in a Souls to the polls event with county candidates.

In addition to the September 11th candidates tour, Davis has confirmed his participation in a candidates debate on September 24th 4:00 pm at the Waco Multi-Purpose Facility, 1020 Elm Ave. Waco Texas. (All HD13 candidates have been invited to participate).
