Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Limestone, Falls, McLennan, Robertson, Leon, Hill and Freestone Counties are sponsoring a “Summer Beef Cattle Management” program at the Groesbeck Auction Barn in Groesbeck, Texas, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude after lunch. Lunch will be sponsored by Ag Southwest & Texas Beef Council. There will be a sponsored breakfast and refreshments courtesy of Lone Star Ag Credit.

There is a $10.00 fee for the program, payable at the door. We will be offering one (1) CEU (1 General credit) toward recertification of private, non-commercial and commercial applicator licenses for attending the program.

Speakers for the program include: Dr. Ron Gill, Professor & Extension Livestock Specialist;; Lisa Everman – Limestone/Freestone Farm Service Agency; Dr. Barron Rector – Extension Range Specialist, and Dr. Jacquelyn Prestegaard-Wilson, Assistant Professor and Extension Livestock Sustainability Specialist

Topics for the Beef Cattle program include: Range and Pasture Decisions with dry conditions/ Weed and Brush ID with control options; Balancing Feed costs and Ruminant nutrient needs for peak animal performance; Bull and Replacement Female Selection and considerations; and a USDA Farm Service Agency Update along with presentations from all of our sponsors.
