Mike was born on May 28, 1954 to Wayne and Patsy Harper in Methodist Central Hospital in Dallas, Texas and graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1972. Harper said he was way too smart for college, so he went straight from high school to the Carpenters Union.
Harper was a bull rider back in the late 70’s and 80’s. He pulled his bull rope on many a bull at Mesquite Championship Rodeo.
Mike has two sons from a previous marriage, Michael Lynn Harper and Joseph Casey Harper. He was so proud of his nephew, Landon Harris and niece, Lacey Harris Murrillo.

Harper and Christie’s love story began one day in the Bank where Christie first saw Harper…Ostrich Boots, Starched Wranglers, HOT Pink Brush popper shirt with a Straw hat. Harper was larger than life and so PRETTY in her eyes. Their courtship began shortly after their first encounter.

They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 28, 1994.

Harper and Christie had many adventures from the beginning. He was always a carpenter at heart, but sold cars, trucks, animals then the insurance adjusting world came to his eyes. That’s where the big adventures truly began.

He always had an eye for treasures, things that shined and something that would make a buck.

Ole Harp was a man of integrity, loved people and never met a stranger. Along the life’s journey they met an array of friends that became family.

Harper’s Bride, Flint and Kate, their poodles, are forever changed with him gaining his wings.
