Talk about taking time to stop and smell the roses! I walked right by two of the biggest yellow roses I have ever seen. I know they weren’t there yesterday because of all the rain but boy, oh boy, they were sure here today. They were almost telling me to stop! There were only two but lots of buds. My red roses and the pink ones have bloomed and bloomed and are getting ready to again. It has been a while since the yellow one has bloomed…see how I am trying to give myself an out for not seeing them before?!
Two of our beautiful grandchildren are graduating this year. It is almost impossible to believe that they have grown up that fast. It seems like yesterday they were coming down here to visit Grandma and Pappy and sleeping on a pallet next to our bed. Avery turned 18 in April. She has had a hard road to travel as she had brain cancer when she was 12 years old. But God has blessed her with healing, and she has a job and has been accepted at a college in Lubbock where her family lives. The other graduate is our grandson, Austin, who will be graduating and will also be going to college. Ashton graduated in 2018 and will be a Junior at Stephen F. Austin University. She is a tutor at the college and loves that job. It certainly seems as if she skipped a grade or something because the time has gone by so fast….I am sure it didn’t always go fast for her.
This week was memory week at the Red Oak Ranch. The Colonel and I talked about old times spent with the grandkids. Always fun. Always fun to discover some roses blooming too!
