Valedictorian

With plans to do great things, Fairfield High School’s 2020 Valedictorian, William “Conner” Jackson (top left), will proudly lead the commencement walk on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Eagle Field.

Parents, Audra and Craig Jackson, raised a top standing student.

With a GPA of 5.48, Conner has plans to attend Texas A&M University where he plans to get his degree in Biomedical Science.

After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree, he plans to attend Medical School to study towards being an Anesthesiologist.

During his years at Fairfield High School, Conner maintained a well-rounded and busy school life.
Academically, he maintained his rank as number one in the class for three years in a row with straight A’s and the highest GPA.

He enjoyed sports by playing Baseball and throwing discus in Track.

Conner showed an interest in service by joining the National Beta Club, with their mission statement of, “To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students”

In Band, he showed impressive leadership skills by being Head Drum Major for multiple years and still dedicating time to practice the trumpet.

He participated in UIL science, and spent a great deal of time with 4-H.

He was awarded the gold star in 4-H at the county level, and has shown many animals throughout his participating years.

His favorite bible verse is, But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not for God, for with God all things are possible.” Mark 10:27

Salutatorian

The Salutatorian for Fairfield ISD 2020 school year is Devin Johnson (top right), after a tight race between the top ranking students.

Cathy and Dennis Johnson’s son worked hard to gain his 5.41 GPA.

Devin plans to attend Texas A&M this fall with a major in Statistics.

While attending Fairfield High School, Devin stayed very active, friendly and was an engaging student.

He was an active member in Band and was part of the Church Praise Band.

Devin participated in a variety of Universal Scholastic League (UIL) events, including UIL Mathematics and UIL Science.

He also took part in UIL CX (Cross Examination) Debate, the league’s longest running event, alongside Klay Bonner.

Beta Club was another activity that Devin found time to participate in.

Devin performed in One Act Play, and even played Beast in “A Rose By Another Name” during the 2019 Fall Production.

Even commenting how, “I think the community will like this play, Beauty and the Beast is a classic and I hope our adaptation of it lives up to their expectations.”

Devin wowed audiences during the 2020 Miss Earth Pageant, a Project Graduation fundraiser in which boys were girls.

He brought many smiles and giggles as Miss Italy, Fettuccine Alfredo, while strutting in bright neon clothes reminiscent of the 80’s while lip-syncing Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30 is Devin’s favorite bible quote.
