Calvary Baptist Church of Fairfield will be holding a revival next week and the local congregation is excited to invite everyone to attend the ‘Revive!’ services.

At a time when the Corona Virus pandemic has forced churches across our nation to find new ways of reaching not only their congregation but continuing to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, the deacon body of Calvary decided the time was right for a renewing and focusing on living according to God’s word.

The revival service each night will feature a message by Pastor Terry Skinner along with an array of talented artists.

On Sunday night, ‘The Sounds of Calvary’ will be performing numerous old gospel songs. Members from the original group are Don McLeod, John David Aultman, Hollins Spence, Bud Black and Calvary Music and Education Minister Shelby Race.

Monday night will be a special guest which will be a blessing to all attending. Dr. Stephen Burnaman, a world renown pianist, will be performing. Dr. Burnaman has performed throughout the United States and abroad in such musical centers as Boston, New York, Chicago, Rome, Warsaw, Taipei and Hong Kong. He is currently Professor of Piano and the university’s organist at Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas. He is also a former president of the Austin District Music Teachers Association, which named him ‘Teacher of the Year’ for 2003 and “Collegiate Teacher of the Year’ for 2004 and 2005.

Dr, Burnaman has served churches in Massachusetts and Texas as pianist and organist. From 2006-2011, he performed as a pianist for the Austin Singers, a professional choral ensemble.

Tuesday night revival services will feature another vocal group from Calvary. “Calvary’s Ladies Trio” will be performing for those in attendance. The group includes Teresa Black, LaDonna Mullen and Amy Prather.

“We should all be praying diligently for a spiritual awakening within our church, our community and our nation,” Calvary Pastor Terry Skinner stated. “We want everyone who attends to leave our services with a new beginning of obedience to God. He can and will fix the problems in our world if we turn back to Him and pray for a spiritual awakening. He has given us the roadmap of how to fix the problems across our country, if we would read His word, apply His teachings to our daily lives and ask Him to bless and heal our country.”

The revival services will begin each night at 7 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 220 East Main in Fairfield. For more information for the October 11th-13th revival services, please contact the church office at 903.389.2613.
