I am in danger of getting Spring Fever!! The daffodils are blooming, the trees are budding out, the yards need to be cut and cleaned up, temperatures are getting warmer and my closets need cleaning!! I looked at the shop and it needs to be cleaned, the barn needs cleaning, but yay! the equipment shed just needs to be straightened up and swept out a little bit. So, I am trying desperately to put off the Fever for as long as I can. Forgot to mention I also need to get the taxes done!!

The herds are grazing more than ever. As I travel to town or even over Palestine way, I see hay bales being left in the fields and the cows aren’t paying any attention to them. On a few they have eaten a little, mostly out of the center. Here at the Red Oak we aren’t feeding like we normally do this time of year and they are leaving bales untouched as well. So, I wonder if February is going to hit us full force and we are going to think of January as a “wouldn’t mind having that again” type of month.

The only problem is that the wind is blowing everyday as if a gale force is coming in. I don’t remember constant wind as it has been. March will be here soon enough and then we are use to wind either “coming in like a lamb and going out like a lion” or vice versa. Regardless of what is going on…each day is a new day to enjoy the beauty of it and the gift of it. The Red Oak Ranch rolls along.
