The roads are fixed!!! The culvert was put in, concrete poured thanks to the best concrete contractors in town, gravel came and was spread, and the roads are a joy to drive on again. It is so nice to have a project that is more or less controlled by others finally finished. We, like everyone else, had to get in line for concrete and gravel to be delivered. We were thrilled when we got a call that said we had moved up to number 18 on the list for concrete or gravel, I forget which one! All this was from the damage suffered during the Spring rains.
I was so sorry to see the Hummingbirds go even though I know they come and go on their own schedule every year. They are fun to watch. I have found that my feeders are starting to wear out, so I need to get some new ones. A Family Reunion is in the works for next June. We had to cancel the one planned for this year because my sister had a stroke. So, we will try again next year.
Sundance is being allowed to run free again and enjoying being with her “herd” again. Fedora is still sticking with the Yearling Herd. New baby calves are being born almost every day. We are planning on cutting the herds back but we did go to an auction on Saturday up by Tyler to buy some more….that is how The Colonel feels we are cutting back! Fortunately, we didn’t buy anything. The holidays are getting close and plans are being made for our family get togethers already at the Red Oak Ranch!
