What a wild ride we had this week! Stone shire was laying down in the pasture sunbathing, I guess. He needed to be ‘wormed” so The Colonel said since he is lying down you could probably walk up to him and worm him. I said sure. Stoneshire is very tame (with us only) and The Colonel walked up to him and patted him on the nose. I got out of the truck and walked over to Stoneshire as he got up. I poured the “medicine” on his back, as The Colonel fed him cow candy. I petted him and went back to the truck. As we started back up to the house, we saw the whole herd coming because they wanted to know what was going on. Of course if they knew, even though they couldn’t see that far, it didn’t make any difference to the cows running up they had to check it out.

We came on home and I looked out the window and here was a rabbit in the back yard in the hole that Moe had dug when he was alive. He stayed for a while and then took off. Next came a bunch of Hummingbirds looking for food! I had pulled my feeders in because the wasps were taking it over. I got rid of the wasps but thought they would probably come back. Today, I saw a couple of them trying to get something out of the dry feeder. One came over and like they have done in the past, came to the dining room window and look in at me as if they are asking/begging for food. I thought I best get those refilled while they still want to come by and see us from time to time. Signing off for Red Oak Ranch.
