Remember the cold, cold winter? I do and I am wondering if the weather will ever be “cool” I don’t want it cold and I don’t want it hot, just cool. Of course, I can’t have that kind of weather so, I will just be satisfied with whatever it is. My brother lives in Minnesota and he is looking for a place in Florida as he said he couldn’t take the snow and cold temps up there.
The ones I really feel sorry for are the cows and the calves. They all gather together under a tree trying to stay cool but there are so many of them that I think they probably get hotter. I saw some this past weekend walking very slowly to get to a tree. The calves toned down their play time and stayed pretty close to the trees.
Of course, The Sweet Gum Grove is a wonderful place to go to in order to cool off. I am surprised they didn’t go there. It is like night and day when we go through the Grove as it is a very cool place (most times). Every where on the ranch I saw a group of cows and their calves gathering under a tree that was giving shade to them. Red Oak Ranch does have some good things for the animals.
