The deer have been checking out our place, almost everyday they show up. Last week, Tasha was walking around the fence in the back yard. There were three deer on the outside, keeping an eye on her. She totally ignored them. There was the Mom and her two little ones. They walked around but never took their eyes off her. I thought any moment Tasha might start barking at them. She surprised me, however. Tasha is afraid of most everything but somehow, she was not afraid of the deer. They spent a good time eating grass up by the fence and when it started to get darker, they took off.

The next day, here they came again and this time everyone was a little bit more relaxed. Tasha, stopped and looked at the deer and they didn’t run off and neither did she. This time there were seven deer. I suppose the word was spread through the herd that that dog would not bother them. They all slowed up and took a look at her, but no one ran away, not even the little ones.

They were beautiful and one even pranced into the grove. It looked like a ballet dancer. So many wonderful sights here at the Red Oak Ranch.
