The cows are contented, the baby calves are having a great time, some of the flowers are blooming, life is great! Some of the flowers, of course are blooming at the wrong time of the year. I believe that is because of the freeze, drought, freeze, heat. But, oh well, I can’t control that, so I just enjoy the flowers when and if I see them.
One of the things that I could control was cutting the yard! It grew as if it wasn’t going to stop. I had to go over the front yard twice to get it all cut. Every time we were going to cut the grass, it rained. Finally the rain stopped and left the grass to wave in the breeze.
So, now, we are looking for FALL to make its’ appearance. Even though when that happens that means getting busy with feeding cows. I really enjoy doing that even though there are times I need to be inside cooking. I love to see the little calves all covered up with hay (when The Colonel feeds them and rolls out the bales). When I was a little girl, it seemed that the seasons always came at the right time because we were always ready for a change. The Red Oak Ranch takes whatever comes and we adapt to it!
