There are tree limbs down everywhere and more keep falling. However, in the Sweet Gum Grove there are nary a one! The limbs that are down in the Grove are there because of a mild tornado that came through about 3-4 years ago. The Colonel says that the Sweet Gum trees are very hardy. The grass keeps growing and I am waiting for our Commissioner to send someone out to cut the grass on the County Road. We
used to cut that ourselves but “time marches on” and it is a little more than we want to take on.
Flowers are growing, birds are chirping, and Hummingbirds are visiting! Plus, granddaughter is coming down and we can hardly wait. She is staying for two weeks. The Beagles, MO and Tasha have turned over a new leaf. Actually, it is because they have gotten older and sleep most of the time. But open the gate into the front yard and they come to life! We need to have a round up and as soon as it cools down a little bit, we will do that. Not much happening here this past week but that’s OK, it gives us a little bit of rest and of course sitting on the front porch.
Memorial Day is very special to me as I come from a military family. Remember those who gave their lives so that we might enjoy freedom.
See you all next week, the Red Oak Ranch
