I would not have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes! Every year I leave my Hummingbird feeders up just in case some stray ones come by. I have lots of them coming and fill those feeders 3-4 times a day. Always figuring I can pick up some new ones in case they are running late on their migration out of our area. So, the feeders sat with no one to drink out of them for about 2-3 days. They don’t do well if you leave them up too long because the homemade nectar goes bad, especially in the hot weather.
I thought to myself that I needed to take them down but as so often happens, I forgot about doing it. The other day The Colonel and I were sitting on the front porch and I heard the “hum” of a Hummingbird. I was thrilled to have just one stop by. He stayed around for a while and suddenly there was another one! So, I figure I have picked up two new Hummingbirds to visit our house next year.
Making out my “wish list” I put new Hummingbird Feeders on it so the Red Oak Ranch can feed anymore of the amazing little birds.
